The Shower Power Booster has design features that make it uniquely suitable for easy fitting in a loft.
The pumps are designed not to pull in any air if fitted close to the vent pipe or the cold water tank. The flow switches (which turn on the pumps when you demand water work at any angle) allow you to fit the Shower Power Booster in any orientation, and because our pumps don’t cavitate, you can fit the pumps anywhere between the vent pipe (or cold water tank) and the shower mixer.

Which pumps do I buy when installing in the loft?
Most people are happy to buy just a single SP2B pump to boost the hot only. For most homes, a single SP2B pump gives you a great shower (most of our 5-star reviews are from people who bought just one pump!).
Boosting the cold as well as the hot will always give you a more powerful shower as the mixer can balance temperatures better and there will be additional pressure from the pumps (Note: if you prefer cold showers, think Wim Hof(!), then boosting the cold is the only option). In this case, I would recommend buying the SP22S.
If you want to trail the pump to see if you are happy with just the one pump (SP2B), you can always try one SP2B on the hot and then buy a separate SP2U to boost the cold at a later stage.
If you are a plumber who wants to give your customer the very best results and only visit once, the SP22S gives you two pumps for £199.98, it allows you to boost the hot and the cold, and would be my recommendation to anyone looking for the perfect shower!
