I received this request for assistance from Simon on the 8th September 2018.
There is a trouble shooting guide on the web site which will deals with this and all issues.
Rather than just refer Simon to the ‘Fault Finding Guide’ I am happy to deal with this issue in this blog.
Firstly the question:-

Hi Alan, Brendan,
I was wondering if you might be able to help?
My shower power booster, which is installed on the hot feed from a gravity fed, vented system, has been working fine until today.
I came back from a two week holiday and when I turn on a hot tap, the pump kicks in but doesn’t stop. The water pressure is also significantly lower than before. I have tried to reset it many times and have checked for system leaks but have determined there aren’t any.
I have listened to the pump run and I can’t hear any signs of trapped air.
Would you be able to help please?
Thanks, Simon

REPLY
If a Shower Power Booster has been working well and then suddenly continues to run even when the taps are turned on, then there are two possible reasons. Both of these also results in a loss of performance as well.
AIR IN SYSTEM
Turn On Tap.
Flow switch flashes quickly
Turn Off Tap.
Flow switch light continues to flash quickly
Sound of pump changes (pitch of pump gets higher)
Pump stops momentarily
Flow switch light constant blue

Flow switch light constant blue and cycle repeats indefinitely.
Unplug transformer and replug to break cycle
Solution – flush out air and/or fit 22mm single check valve on the hot pipe.
DEBRIS IN NON RETURN VALVE
Turn On Tap.
Flow switch flashes quickly
Turn Off Tap.
Flow switch light continues to flash quickly
Sound of pump changes (pitch of pump gets higher and stays at that pitch until you open a tap again)
Flow switch light continues to flash quickly
Unplug transformer and replug to break cycle
Reason For Problem
All taps and showers should have a non return valve to stop hot water being pushed from the hot to the cold. A small piece of debris can stop the non return valve working and one of the pipes which should be cold will be warm to the touch.
Solution
Find the faulty shower or tap non return valve and remove the debris.
Fit a new 22mm single check valve on the cold pipe.
