Fitting Shower Power Boosters Fitted Next to the Hot Water Cylinder can Boost Every Tap and Shower in a Home.

Top Tips
Step One – Run the tap or shower you want to boost and check that the pipe you are intending to fit it on gets hot when the shower or tap you want to boost is run with hot water.

Step Two _ Assuming it did get hot close the valve between the cold water tank and the bottom of the hot water cylinder. The tap or shower will stop running in about 10 seconds. Assuming this worked go to Step Five.

Step Three – If that did not stop the flow then you need to drain the cold water tank in order to fit a new isolating valve between the cold water tank and the bottom of the hot water cylinder. Turn off the mains feed to the cold water tank. Unlike gravity hot and cold systems where you simply run cold water to waste you need to empty the cold water tank or find a way of stopping cold water leaving the tank. This can be done by running off hot water if all else fails.

Step Four – You will need to take a trip to your local plumbers merchant and buy a replacement isolating valve. I recommend a 22mm lever arch valve:-

Fit the valve so you can now refill the cold water tank and with the valve closed the work can now continue with a dry pipe.

Step Five – Now have a dry pipe the rest is easy. Use a 22mm pipe slice remove two 110mm lengths of 22mm pipe at the position yo need. Use a pipe slice:-

When tightening the two compression either side of the SPB barrel do not hold the motor barrel. Using two adjustables is ideal.

You may not have much space and you may need to make some changes to your pipework if you want to fit the pump or pumps. Use 22mm compression joints and slip joints to achieve what you need.
