This is a fault finding solutions page if you find the ShowerPowerBooster is not running when you turn you tap or shower on. The behaviour of the blue led is a key diagnostic tool to identify the problem.

The flow switch has a magnetic water wheel which turns when a flow greater than 1.5 litres passes by it. After recording a flow greater than 1.5 litres a minute for 2 seconds, it starts to flash rapidly. Flashing rapidly indicates that there is a flow going through the pump at a rate greater than 1.5 litres a minute. At the same time it allows power to pass through the flow switch to the pump and the pump starts to run.

Fault Situations
Light Flashing slowly and Pump not Running – the power supply is tripping and resetting due to a fault in the transformer or the pump.

There are two indications that the transformer is faulty:-
1.0 If you disconnect the cable between the flow switch and the motor and the light continues to slow flash the transformer is faulty. A confirmation of this is if you plug the transformer directly into the motor and the motor stops and starts the transformer is faulty.

There is one indication that the transformer is faulty:-
1.0 If you plug the transformer directly into the motor and it fails to run the motor is faulty.

Light Constant – The flow switch relies on a magnetic wheel turning in the water flow and it needs a minimum flow running through the pump of 1.5 litres a minute to activate.

1.0 The wheel can get jammed if you used excessive plumbers mate to fitting the pump. This can be checked by inspection of the filter.
2.0 There could be an air lock which you need to flush out.
Take off the shower head and lower the hose to the shower tray level. At full hot and the pump in manual mode so the pump is running try to flush the air out.
3.0 Your shower head may be restricting the flow and needs replacing (visit the WrightChoice shower heads and hoses web site by clicking this link)

Light flashing rapidly but pump not running.
Your motor has most likely failed. Plug the transformer directly into the motor and if then it still does not run then the pump has failed.
