The entire range of ShowerPowerBoosters are run by 12 volt DC motors.If you already have a 12 volt supply you do not need to buy the power packs. You can save money when you buy the pumps we sell without power packs.The pumps without power packs are the SP1U and the SP2U.

Models such as the SP1, SP2B, SP21S, and the SP22S come with power packs which plug into a 3 pin socket and output 12 volts.
The concept of the ShowerPowerBooster started life as an off grid pump supplied by a bank of 12 volt lead acetate batteries. Our pumps are designed to run at voltages from 8 to 14 volts which mirrors the sort of voltage outputs you can expect from undercharged and fully charged lead batteries.
Whether you own a boat, a caravan, a camper van, or a cabin, you can opt to power the pumps from the 12 volt supply side rather than the 240 volt inverter. Each ShowerPowerBooster pump will draw about 1 amp depending on flow. Our range of radiator booster to boost hot water radiators will draw about 0.5 amps.

12 volt DC power is very safe, even for DIY, you can cut and splice the cables carrying 12 volts dc, you can touch live 12 volt cables with your fingers. Never ever do this on the 240 volt power input to the 12 volt power packs.
