Description
If you have low mains pressure , and the washing machine or dishwasher stops filling, then the SP2B is likely the best pump for you.
Mains-fed homes are meant to have good pressure — but the pipe from the street doesn’t always deliver, especially at peak times when the whole neighbourhood is drawing from the same main. Whilst you may have been told you can’t do anything about the mains, you can — legally, and without waiting for the water company.
The SP2B for mains pressure is a WRAS-approved automatic booster pump fitted on the pipe feeding the washing machine. It boosts the pressure, increases the flow, and protects that outlet from the fluctuations that arrive every time demand rises elsewhere. It detects flow and starts by itself — no switches, nothing to turn on.
WRAS approval is what makes this legal: the Water Regulations Advisory Scheme has verified the pump complies with UK water supply regulations, so it can be fitted to mains pipework — something most pumps can’t claim. And it’s a considerate neighbour: the pump draws no more than the washing machine or dishwasher needs, so it doesn’t rob the main.
Q: Will it affect my neighbours’ pressure?
A: No. — no more than a running tap.
Q: What if the whole house is weak, not one outlet?
A: Boost the incoming supply itself with the SP21S — see the under-sink mains booster page.
Q: My water company says my pressure meets the minimum. Will this still help?
A: Yes — the legal minimum is set low. The SP2B adds pressure on top of whatever the main delivers.
