The Shower Power Booster pumps are an innovative way of boosting water pressure and flow in a variety of plumbing systems.

It is designed as a retrofit pump with safety features which allows it to be fitted by a customer with only basic DIY skills and also by professional plumbers in applications where no other pump would work or it is simply the best solution.

Many of our customers are of an age where lots of people learnt from their fathers (or mothers!) the DIY skills they need but we also have younger “have-a-go” men and women who take pride in taking control and fitting these pumps.

Our customer service ethos is to support and coach anyone who wants to fit our pumps.

Why Shower Power Booster?

Our pumps are quiet and unlike traditional pumps can be fitted anywhere between the heat source and the tap/shower. In this respect, they can often be fitted without disruption of tiles and finished decorations.

Gravity Systems
Many of our pumps are fitted on gravity systems where the simplicity of fitting them on existing pipes appeals to DIY and Plumbers alike.

With our pumps, you don’t have to drain the hot water cylinder like you would with traditional pumps, and there’s no need to provide new pipework which reduces the complexity and cost of fitting them. Whilst most DIY’ers would baulk at the work involved in fitting an Essex or Surrey Flange, just cutting 110mm of pipe and slipping in an SPB is child’s play in comparison.

If you’re using another system (combi-boilers, mains pressure or electric showers, for example), then check out our helpful guides that will steer you in the right direction of which pump you can use: here.

3 Applications of a Shower Power Booster

Boosting the Pressure and Flow from any pipe
Put the SPB on any pipe and these 0.5 bar pumps will add to whatever pressure you started with. Add 2 pumps in series and you have 0.5 + 0.5 = 1.0 bars plus the pressure you started with. If you double the pressure you increase the flow by 50% so for an upstairs shower you can quadruple the pressure and double the flow.

Stopping Combi Boilers and Electric Showers Cutting Out
Combi boilers and electric showers have a need for a pressure of between 0.8 and 1.0 bars upstream or they will turn off the heating element. The pressure can drop below this as flow increases so the shower/tap can suddenly run cold. An SP2B or SP21S (double boost) can prevent this from happening.

Protecting and Boosting Flows (Reprioritising)
Water will naturally leave a pipe through a path of least resistance which means that opening a tap can draw water away from the shower and the shower fails. If you install a Shower Power Booster before the shower or tap you want to protect the pump draws water in a priority above that of the tap and the shower is protected and boosted.

The high temperature and pressure rating of our pumps are uniquely suited to being fitted on the hot side of a Combi Boiler or a Mega Flow so the Shower Power Booster is the only pump that can protect and boost on the hot side of a Combi Boiler or Mega Flow (fully pressurised system).
