Description
If you’re struggling with showers and taps with low water pressure throughout your home, or notice that a shower loses pressure when a tap or toilet runs, and you have a gravity system, then the SP2B is likely the best pump for you. In homes with a cold water tank in the loft then just boosting the hot is the solution (unless you know the cold pressure to be weak as well).
If your home is a flat or a room in a HMO you may have a close coupled tank or a Fortic tank. A SP21S or a SP22S is recommended for such homes.
Whilst you may have been told your only options are a bulky, expensive power shower or a new system, there is now a simpler DIY fix. In most homes it’s only the hot that’s lagging behind, so a single pump on the hot feed is all it takes to get up to four times the pressure and twice the flow.

Q: Do I need to boost the cold as well?
A: Usually not. In most gravity homes the cold is fine and it’s the hot that lags. If your shower also fades when a toilet flushes or a cold tap runs, that’s the sign both feeds need help — that’s the SP22S. We recommend to most people who call us that they start with the SP2B, if they find they need more boost, we offer an upgrade – contact our team for more information.
The SP2B for gravity systems is a WRAS-approved automatic booster pump that fits on the hot water pipe, after the vent pipe. In most gravity homes only the hot needs boosting — the cold usually holds its own — so one small pump on the right pipe transforms the shower. Fit it on the main hot feed and it boosts every hot outlet in the house; fit it on a single shower’s branch and it boosts just that shower. Around 8 in 10 gravity-fed customers need nothing more than this one pump.
This automatic pump detects flow and starts by itself to boost the whole house or to protect and boost an individual shower or tap.
